We are looking for an employee who can join us as a Full-time (30-40 hrs per wk), Part-time (20-30 hrs per wk) or a Seasonal (up to 20 hrs per week) team member. Buehler’s Sous Chefs prepare food for several areas in our store: our restaurants, catered events, our deli department as well as for our specialty areas (ex. food truck, etc.) We have loyal customers that join us for meals in our restaurants, shop our deli departments or attend local events catered by Buehler’s. So, no matter where the customer is shopping or dining, we strive to make each event a great experience for that customer. One of our company strategies is to become the Best in Food Service and have the Freshest Foods that starts with one day (event) at a time.
Our Food Service teammates love to prepare and serve food while following established food production programs and procedures.
A typical day for a Sous Chef may include:
Operate the grill, fryers and related equipment
Set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems
Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep the work area clean
Observe proper food handling techniques
Store food properly and safely, mark the date and item
Train Line Cooks to ensure consistent food preparation
Use our recognition and engagement program for Line Cooks
Assist Line Cooks when needed

Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:
Attain at least 18 years of age
Able to occasionally be required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# to 80#
Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; and can do simple math problems
Able to work within our deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives…so frequently you will be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
