Job Description

Under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager, the Tasting Room Hospitality Associate is responsible for promoting the sales of Kita Wines and Tasting Room merchandise while providing exceptional customer service to guests ensuring a meaningful wine tasting experience. This includes assisting tasting room guests in all aspects of hospitality, retail sales, and the overall visitor experience, including providing the latest information on Kita Wines, winemaking techniques, and history. Also, assists with related events, tours, activities, merchandising, and inventory, as needed.


Age Requirement:

Must be 21 years of age.

High School Diploma or GED certificate.
Additional Requirements:

Must possess, or be able to obtain once hired, the Alcohol Beverage Control training/certification.
Knowledge of wines, wine production, and Santa Barbara County’s AVAs.
Knowledge of applicable regulations, rules, procedures, and administration required.
Previous wine retail or restaurant experience a plus.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and point of sale (POS) experience a plus.
Basic Mathematical aptitude to determine discounts, percentages, and interest.
Proficient in computers, including Microsoft Office, email, and internet.
Outstanding customer service and hospitality skills, with a commitment to excellence and high standards.
Superior sales skills; direct marketing skills; and tact in working with others.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, professionalism, and courtesy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain and build professional and positive relationships with colleagues, management, vendors, and guests.
Ability to organize and prioritize work, with attention to detail.
Ability to take direction from management.
Ability to work independently.
Must be able to work weekends, flexible schedules, some evenings, and some holidays.
Valid California Driver’s License.
Must complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Native American hiring preference applies.
