Responsible for providing and maintaining prepared food items of the highest quality for buffet guests.
Ensures that food handling procedures, temperature guidelines, presentation, and garnishing of products is consistent with our high level of guest satisfaction.
Implements all food and beverage procedures for food storage, rotation, spoilage, sanitation, and the prevention of cross contamination.
Closes communication with the kitchen staff to provide proper names, ingredients, and preparation procedures for inquiring guests and employees.
Maintains the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene.
Performs daily and weekly cleaning duties.
Is responsible for a high level of guest service.
Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures preferred.
Must be able to lift heavy objects on a limited basis.
Physically capable of remaining on feet for long periods of time.
Subject to internal working conditions including a smoking environment and an alcohol establishment.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Education Required: High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency (GED).
Experience: Minimum of one year of food handling/cooking experience and one year of guest service experience required.
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass a criminal background check, and submit to drug testing.
