Position Title:
Marketing Representative (Part-time)
Rate of Pay: $20.00- $24.00 per hour, based on experience
Position Purpose:
Perform a wide variety of functions within the Marketing department to support the promotion the OC Fair & Event Center’s events and its unique educational assets, under the direction of the Marketing Director. This position is not to exceed 119 days per calendar year.
Essential Functions:
Coordinate production of marketing and advertising materials to promote the annual OC Fair, year-round events and educational/community programs.
Create copy for a variety of print, digital and collateral marketing materials.
Proofread and edit materials on a daily basis.
Develop creative briefs, and use project review software to review designs for print ads, brochures, flyers, web banners, and other collateral materials, adhering to brand and style guidelines.
Prepare specifications and project descriptions for bidding, coordinating with internal designers, print and production vendors and the Purchasing/Contracts Department.
Serve as liaison between internal clients and the Creative Services Department for marketing related projects, advising on direction and content, and carrying projects through from conception to final approval.
Coordinate with ad agency on media planning, TV and radio production and other special projects.
Conduct media audits by monitoring media platforms for advertising and marketing campaigns.
Work with the Accounting department and ad agency on media reconciliation, media invoicing and payment
Ensure that event-related marketing assets are current, accurate, displayed in a timely manner, and removed the day after the event end date.
Work with multiple departments to develop content, schedules, artwork, and images for the composition of weekly e-blast communications.
Assist in developing and executing database marketing strategies.
Develop promotion agreements with marketing partners including drafting deal points, activation schedules and deliverables.
Work with videography vendor to develop schedules, timelines, program content, and artwork to build and edit videos for display at event venues.
Respond to inbound inquiries and requests for marketing information via email, phone and/or in person to provide excellent customer service.
Conduct market research for special projects via internet, phone interviews, or request for information inquiries to develop update reports and briefs for staff review.
Coordinate promotional events both on-site and within the community to include marketing road shows.
Contribute to and monitor marketing content on the company web site.

Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in a marketing coordination role for an advertising agency or company’s marketing department.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Advertising, or equivalent experience.
Possession of a valid California Driver’s License to operate State vehicles and carts.
Knowledge of marketing, advertising, promotions, and production in order to work closely with various internal customers and provide guidance.
Ability to guide and facilitate creative development with internal graphic design team.
Knowledge of the print production process from design and layout to pre-production and printing.
Knowledge of database management and database marketing strategies.
Ability to write clear and creative copy for marketing and advertising materials. Recent writing samples are required (e.g., brochure, newsletters and/ or radio tags are acceptable) to be submitted along with the application. A writing test will be part of the interview process.
Ability to create documents and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines to ensure successful completion of marketing projects and execution of marketing events.
Ability to work in an active environment with multiple requests, and tight deadlines as required by business needs.
Ability to work in a team environment to serve internal customers, and share duties with others in the Marketing department.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, pack and transport marketing materials off-site promotion locations for various marketing events.
Ability to draft and fulfill promotion trade agreements for special events.
Ability to pay strong attention to detail.
Ability to consistently and adequately balance multiple priorities with competing deadlines to meet the changing needs of the department.
Ability to work outside of normal business hours or days, as required by our business needs.
