Description of Work
The CPCRN GRA student is finishing on May 15th. In order to maintain momentum on CPCRN projects, the Coordinating Center requests to hire a temporary RA to fill some of the duties in the short term. Position Description: The UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP) was established in 1985. The Center’s mission is to improve the health of people in North Carolina and the Southeast through interdisciplinary research, teaching, and public service. Particular emphasis is paid to the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. The Center is supported by funding from the five Health Affairs schools, the Office of the Associate Provost for Health Affairs, federal competitive research grants, private foundation grants, and contractual agreements. The Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) is a national network of academic, public health, and community partners who work together to reduce the burden of cancer, especially among those disproportionately affected. Its members conduct community-based participatory cancer research across its eight network centers, crossing academic affiliations and geographic boundaries. The CPCRN is a thematic research network of the Prevention Research Centers (PRCs), which is CDC’s flagship program for preventing and controlling chronic diseases. The Research Assistant (RA) will provide research, administrative, and communications support to the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) Coordinating Center, located within the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention (HPDP).

Primary responsibilities will include: 1) maintaining the CPCRN website, newsletter, and social media accounts (www.cpcrn.org) 2) developing surveys in Qualtrics 3) contributing scientifically to cross-center CPCRN work groups including the Rural Cancer, Quality Improvement/ Implementation Science/ Technical Assistance (QUISTA), and Organizational Theory in Implementation Science (OTIS) work groups.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Public Health degree (spring 2020 graduates may apply); or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Two years of experience working as part of a research team.
