Description of the Job
Provide Tier 1 hardware, software, and account support over the phone in a 24/7 call center located in Cabell Library
Provide hands-on technical support on MP and MCV campuses
Provide support through responses to incoming emails, tickets, and chats
Check in and out tests for Faculty and Staff through the gradeIT Test Scanning Service
Reserve, distribute, and triage issues with audiovisual equipment
Maintain a clean and organized working environment (all spaces are shared)
Exhibit excellent customer service with every customer interaction
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
Basic computer skills and an apparent aptitude for learning new things
1 year of customer service experience
Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally
Ability to independently research solutions to technical issues using available resources
Ability to work in a high-volume, high-stress environment
Ability to manage time appropriately to ensure that all duties are completed
At least one weekend per month available to work
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with multiple Operating Systems (i.e. Windows and Apple)
Experience removing spyware, adware, malware, or viruses
Working knowledge of university applications including, but not limited to eServices, Blackboard, myVCUmail, Office 365, app2go
Working knowledge of commonly used software such as Microsoft Office, Slack, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
