Job Description

If so, come join Western States Envelope & Label at our premier manufacturing label printing division, Four Lakes Label in Sun Prairie! We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic people to join our team as printing Press Operator Assistants for our 2nd shift. In-depth training will be offered to prepare you for your daily duties and for future advancement and professional/financial growth.

For this role, you must be able to train on 1st shift for a few weeks and then be available to work 2nd shift hours on a part-time or full-time basis Monday-Thursday between 3:30pm-2:00am; occasional overtime may be required. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits. Part-time employees must be able to work a set-schedule of preferably 20-30 hours per week.

Position Summary

You will assist Press Operators with a variety of tasks, while learning the basics of flexo and digital printing including how to safely operate and troubleshoot machinery. Our goal is to prepare you for a career with increased earnings potential as a Press Operator within a great organization that serves this expanding and exciting industry.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist Press Operators with set ups, plate mounting, operation and clean ups
Assist Press Operators with tooling, ink mixing and color matching
Work in the rewind and finishing areas
Work with other shifts to keep area clean and safe
Follow all policies and procedures
Follow all Lean practices and be an active member of the team
Required Qualifications

Be at least 17 years old.
Possess organizational and detail-oriented skills
Possess communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English
Possess basic math and computer operation skills
Have ability to read/interpret rulers and use small hand tools
Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, twist and lift/carry up to 20 pounds
Be dependable, work the agreed upon schedule and have reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications

Press or label manufacturing experience preferred, not required as we will train
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and/or Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principles
